By the end of this school year, it will be the only calculator available within the SAGE tests.  DESMOS is a fantastic upgrade from the old SAGE calculator! Come to this session to learn (a) how to use the DESMOS calculator so you can teach your students, and (b) how to include DESMOS in math lessons.

During this session, participants will learn how to use the DESMOS calculator. Additionally, we will implement a math lesson using DESMOS to show how students can login and teachers can use the teacher panel and dashboard to monitor and/or display student responses.

For this session, the lesson will be aligned with secondary math 1, 2, and/or 3 standards.

Graphic Organizers with Illustrator
TCSD has given teachers access to a powerful set of tools: the Adobe CC (Creative Cloud) Suite. This spectacular array of software can do a plethora of things from editing video to creating websites to manipulating photos to creating custom pdfs and more, but one very useful thing it can do is help teachers build custom graphic organizers.

Adobe Illustrator does everything you wish Word or Paint (or any other number of "why won't it do this?" programs) would do when trying to develop and manipulate a graphic organizer into something useful. With a little knowledge and a basic mastery of some of the tools, you can be pulling together useful graphic organizers today. And that's just the beginning. The more familiar you become with  Adobe Illustrator, the more sophisticated and useful the products you create. Come play with fonts, lines, shapes, and colors and develop a new skill that can be both creatively satisfying and immediately practical.

**The two files associated with this presentation are: 1. Some examples of graphic organizers I have made and used in the classroom. 2. A more advanced guide that links to Youtube tutorials about Illustrator (may seem overwhelming but is great when you want to know more).
